Private Invitation  ·  Interview Guest  ·  How Do You Dad? Podcast with Joe Barlow

If you received this link, it's because I believe your story matters — and I want to give you a platform to share it. How Do You Dad? is a podcast built around one simple, powerful question asked of real men who are doing the work of fatherhood every day.

This is a private invitation. It's not open to the public. I handpick every guest because I believe in what they're doing and think my audience needs to hear from them.

"How Do You Dad?"

This is the question. Your answer is the episode. No script. No pressure. Just a real conversation.

You pick the time that works for you — whether that's tomorrow or three months from now. Once you find a slot within my available hours, we'll connect on Zoom and have a conversation worth sharing.

One Hour Blocked

I'll reserve a full hour on the calendar. The conversation typically runs 45–50 minutes. No rushing — we'll end when it's right.

Start with Who You Are

We kick off with a brief intro — who you are, what you do, and the family you're showing up for. Then we answer the question.

Conversational Format

This is a real conversation, not a formal sit-down. I'll ask follow-up questions, share my perspective, and let it breathe naturally.

Your Schedule, Your Terms

Book any time that works within my available windows. No pressure on timing — what matters is you show up ready to talk.

Please Prep Your Zoom Setup

  • Lighting: Make sure your face is well and pleasantly lit. A window in front of you — not behind — works beautifully, or use a simple ring light or lamp facing you. If the camera can't clearly see your eyes, neither can the audience.
  • Background: Your background should be either blurred using Zoom's virtual background feature, or clean and presentable. A bookshelf, a simple wall, or a tidy room reads great on camera. Avoid distracting clutter.
  • Camera angle: Position your camera at eye level if possible. It feels more natural and engaging than looking down.
  • Audio: Use headphones or earbuds to reduce echo, and find a quiet space with minimal background noise.
  • Test first: Do a quick Zoom test call before our session so we're not troubleshooting on the day of the interview.

Got a book, a program, a service, a podcast, or something else that would genuinely help dads? Bring it. I want to give you the opportunity to share it during our conversation.

My audience is made up of fathers who are taking their role seriously — men who are investing in themselves and their families. If what you offer would serve them, I'm actively encouraging you to mention it.

If you have a product, resource, or service that would help a dad be better at his role, please plan to share it during the interview. That's a gift to my audience — and it's good for you too.

Once we record, your episode will be edited and distributed across multiple platforms. Here's where it lives:

  • YouTube — Full episodes published on the How Do You Dad? channel. Check it out: youtube.com/@HowDoYouDad. Clips and highlights may also be shared as Shorts or standalone videos.
  • Spotify via Anchor.fm — Distributed through Anchor.fm / Spotify and available across the major podcast directories where Anchor publishes.
  • Social Media — Clips, quotes, and moments from our conversation may be shared across Instagram, Facebook, and other platforms to promote the episode and expand your reach.
  • Full or partial use — The full interview or selected portions may be used in any combination across these platforms at my editorial discretion.
